Cryptozoic and Rotten Tomatoes Launch New Movie Guess Card Game

JAKARTA - Cryptozoic Entertainment, a leading maker of tabletop games, trading cards, and collectibles, and Rotten Tomatoes announced the upcoming release of Rotten Tomatoes: The Card Game.

Rotten Tomatoes: The Card Game is built on Rotten Tomatoes, the most trusted platform for finding movie, TV and streaming recommendations, will ask 20 players to rate movies with their Tomatometer scores.

Kohn also said that the game combines player knowledge and easy-to-learn gameplay, with some of the most famous films of all time, the developer will test the cinematic knowledge of film fans.

“We are excited to partner with Rotten Tomatoes on this incredibly fun game that brings the brand into the world of tabletop gaming,” said Cory Jones, co-founder of Cryptozoic Entertainment.

How to Play Rotten Tomatoes: The Card Game

In the initial setup of Rotten Tomatoes: The Card Game, each player is dealt three Movie Cards, which are arranged according to their Tomatometer score and form their respective Movie Collection.

Then as players take turns, the player on the right will pick up a Movie Card and read the movie title and other details, except its Tomatometer score. The other players then have to guess where the film's Tomatometer score fits between their current cards. If correct, the card will be added to their Movie Collection.

Then, there will be Wild Cards which will interrupt the player's turn and include other players where they have to guess the year of the film's release, audience score, cast members, title, or Tomatometer score. The winner gets a Movie Card, and the Wild Card is discarded.

Rotten Tomatoes: The Card Game is slated to be available at retailers in early 2023 for a suggested retail price of $24.99, and can be ordered now from the Cryptozoic Store.
