JAKARTA - Mark Zuckerberg's company Meta plans to create a division that allows companies to build paid features on its apps, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.

The news comes from an internal memo received by The Verge, which says that the creation of a new division called the New Monetization Experiences is Meta's latest breakthrough that will be seriously built.

The reason is, that the division's development is due to the company's ad business losses due to changes in Apple's ad tracking on iOS.

Furthermore, Meta said, the New Monetization Experiences group will later be led by Pratiti Raychoudhury, who was previously the head of Meta research.

Meta's VP of monetization that oversees the group, John Hegeman said, in the long term, Meta sees this paid feature as a more meaningful part of its business, he said.

"At the five-year horizon, I think it can really move the needle and make quite a significant difference", Hegeman explained in an interview with The Verge.

In addition to his serious ambitions to increase revenue from advertising, Meta has also ambitions to plunge into the world of NFT.

As recently done, Meta announced that now all Facebook and Instagram users can post their NFT digital collections.

The company also decided to remove the Facebook Gaming app starting in October. Meta asks players to still be able to play and connect with the community through Facebook's main app.
