JAKARTA - The metalcore unit, Underoath released the latest independent single titled Lifeline (Drowning) via MNRK Heavy.

Recently, Underoath released an acoustic version of the single Let Go, which received a positive response from the magazines Revolver, Alternative Press, and Kerrang!, and took them on a major US tour with Periphery.

Both songs, which will be included in Underoath's upcoming full album, will be released in early 2024, featuring the band's new direction with unmatched creativity and innovative storytelling.

Meanwhile, speaking of Lifeline (Drowning), in its official statement, the band said that the new single was a call for help.

"We think we've all experienced it, be it simple miscommunication or full toxic relationship feeling that you can't step on the water like this anymore or you might sink. We want to make a song centered around a melody that can still hold back energy from exploding heavy songs," the band said.

Through this song, Underoath rediscovered the balance between chaos and harmony. The composition they present, transformed from creative tension, becomes an iconolastic song. Even as the band almost caught fire, the volcanic energy merged into something that was very resonant to millions of people.

Looking back, their pair of gold albums and three Grammy nominations are in conflict with the idea of commercial compromise. Underoath catalog arms noise, aggression, and atmosphere as good as a melody.
