Honda Presents Prelude Concept At JMS 2023, Carrying Hybrid Technology

JAKARTA - Honda is part of the list of brands participating in the 2023 Japan Mobility Show (JMS) which is currently taking place in Tokyo, Japan. This is the company's momentum in providing more mobility in the future.

JMS 2023 is a forum for Japanese companies in presenting the latest vehicles, namely the Prelude Concept, which has a sporty and environmentally friendly style as well as providing an exciting driving experience.

"Preude Concept is a special sports model that will offer an exciting experience that makes you want to continue to go with it and the extraordinary joy you've never felt before," said Toshihiro Mibe, director of Honda Motor Co., on the company's website, Wednesday, October 25.

The name Prelude Concept comes from the name of one of the legendary models of the manufacturer with the 'H' logo, named Prelude. The model debuted in 1978 as a flagship sedan in its class by carrying a 4-cylinder engine.

This model has existed for five generations and has undergone a series of changes, one of which is iconic by carrying a front light that can be opened and closed in the second and third generations. This makes it resemble a more compact version of the NSX model.

Long story short, this car experienced a fresher design change in the next generation which made it suitable for driving in urban areas. However, this model had to be put to death in October 2001 as sales decreased for the global market.

Back to the Prelude Concept, this preview design has a more dynamic shape making it a little different from most concept cars. The front light imitates rivals a little, such as the Toyota Prius, but is combined with a license that resembles the current generation Record or Civic Hospital.

It is estimated that this model is a Coupe type because of the shorter shape of the rear trunk with a more sloping back pillar in a two-door style that is quite sporty.

Honda has not disclosed further specifications about this vehicle. However, it is reported that Motor1, Monday, October 25, the production version of the Prelude Concept is not an EV, but a hybrid car. This means that this car will combine the performance of the gasoline engine with the efficiency of electric driving.
