Protested In Venice, Woody Allen: I Don't Know It's Like Being Canceled

JAKARTA - Woody Allen feels he has never been canceled or rejected by the public. The statement was given when he attended the Venice International Film Festival to promote his latest film, Coup de Chance.

Since his presence was confirmed, protests against the festival have continued to grow because the director is suspected of sexually harassing him. This case has been rolling for years without end.

It is known, Woody Allen is said to have sexually harassed his adopted son, Dylan Farrow when he was a child. The allegations were revealed in the HBO documentary titled Allen v Farrow. Apart from his son, many female actresses voiced support for Dylan Farrow.

So far, Woody Allen has always denied the allegations. He also made the statement in his latest interview.

I always give a good part to women, always have women on the crew, always pay them the same amount we give men, work with hundreds of actresses. And never, have received any complaints from them until now," said Woody Allen in an interview with Variety.

"No one said, 'Working with (Allen), he's very rude or he's disturbing. There's no such issue," he continued.

Talking about cancel culture, Woody Allen stated, 'I think if you're going to be canceled, it's a culture being canceled, I think it's all funny, I don't think about it.'

"I don't know how it felt to be canceled. I know everything feels the same for me. I made my film," he said.

Woody Allen became Dylan's parent when Mia adopted him when he had a relationship with the director. Apart from Dylan, Allen allegedly did the same thing before having a relationship with his other adopted son, Soon-Yi Previn.

After a relationship, Soon-Yi Previn and Woody Allen married in 1997. On the other hand, Previn said Mia Farrow had committed violence against her.
