Asmirandah Remembers Mrs. Jonas Rivanno As In-laws Who Always Lead Worship

JAKARTA - Jonas Rivanno and Asmirandah also recalled the departure of Leony Pattipeilohy, the mother of Jonas, who died on Friday, July 7 yesterday.

Jonas believes what happened was not a breakup. The 36-year-old actor believes that he will be reunited with his late mother someday. That belief made Jonas and Asmirandah strong enough to release their mother.

"If we (Jonas and Asmirandah), we happen to really believe this is not a separation, we just don't meet for a while. Because according to what we believe, one day we will definitely meet again. We remind each other, that is what strengthens us all," said Jonas Rivanno after burying his mother at the Pondok Ranggon TPU, East Jakarta on Saturday, July 8.

The late Leony Pattipeilohy is said to be a figure who is close to all members of his family. Asmirandah called his mother-in-law a leader in the extended family.

Kalau mama itu seperti pemimpin semua acara. Kalau ada acara di keluarga, 'let's eat together here'. Jadi, memang mama itu selalu yang memimpin acara-cara ibadah, dalam keluarga itu pasti kita selalu melakukan ibadah bersama keluarga, keluarga inti berkumpul selalu ikutan, kata Asmirandah.

"So maybe we will miss those situations, who remembers them, especially every week we always tell Mama 'Happy Sunday', definitely will miss them," he continued.

Jonas also shared a moment when his mother had a big impact on family decisions. When Jonas felt he was treated unfairly and intended to retaliate, he was determined by his mother to leave the matter to God.

"At that time we were in a very big problem, and when we had the moment we wanted to reply because we thought it was unfair, at that moment Mama said 'to leave everything to God,' said Jonas Rivanno.

"That's advice from a mother that I never forget. If we have surrendered to God, never try to do anything beyond my own ability, always ask for guidance," he concluded.
