Exclusive Fahri Azmi Enjoys Behind The Scene Role To Keep Business Smooth

The name Fahri Azmi is widely known after playing in the soap opera Ganteng-Ganteng Serigala which aired from 2014 to 2015. The success of the soap opera made him return to play in several other film titles and soap operas.

However, in the last four years, Fahri Azmi has been on hiatus from acting and focused on completing his higher education. Currently, he has completed his education in the notary master.

Having received certification as a notary and Land Deed Making Officer (PPAT), Fahri Azmi is still busy with other activities.

"Now I'm busy notary and running a business, I'm still a content creator and producer too. So, I do a lot of things every day," said Fahri Azmi when met by VOI in Cilandak, South Jakarta on July 4.

In 2022, Fahri Azmi also shared his first experience as a producer. He had the opportunity to work behind the scenes for a series that aired on one of the OTT platforms.

"In the past, I had several times in front of the screen, now I study behind the scenes more. Last year I had the opportunity to produce a series which aired on OTT," said Fahri.

"There I learned how to make a film or series, how to director, cameraman and all kinds of things. And what I feel is that it's also fun to make a series," he continued.

The first experience as a producer made him not want to completely leave the film industry. Instead, he is addicted to working behind the scenes and dreams of having his own production house (PH).

"From there I began to be addicted, one day I will think about having a PH," he said.

Having felt at the front and behind the scenes, Fahri felt his knowledge had increased. He found several differences when he was a producer, who was not found when he was an actor.

"The busyness is definitely different. In the past, in front of the screen I was more about character and script, that's all. But now there's more to think about, I think about talent too. I also choose who should play a character, think about his team too, "said Fahri.

"Those are all the details and that is what determines a work, so yes, those things distinguish what I do in front of the screen and behind the scenes," he added.

From the many jobs that have been going through, Fahri feels lucky to be a producer after previously doing business. The soul of a businessman makes him not afraid to lose money when producing the series.

"(The entrepreneur's wife) likes to try new things, likes new challenges, but with risks that we think are still within reasonable limits," he said.

Fahri said that it was impossible to go through something he did not know at all. That's also what he learned while doing business.

"In fact, I also can't take a job or a business that I don't think I know at all. At least even if I don't know, I know someone who is an expert in that field," he said.

Fahri also sees 2023 as an extraordinary year, where this year he can achieve many things which are certainly not easy.

"I'm very grateful that in 2023 there have been a lot of changes in my life. I also didn't expect that in 2023 I would have a restaurant, this year I'm also a notary and PPAT, in 2023 I have a new business, then this month I also want to open a new branch," said Fahri.

"This year I am also developing something with my friend who holds the startup, I want to hold the startup too. So indeed in 2023 it is extraordinary, I am very grateful for this year," he continued.

Enjoying Behind The Scene's Role So That Business Keeps Running, There's a lot of work to be done, Fahri admits that he doesn't have time to play. Even though you enjoy all the work, that doesn't mean what you do is as easy as you can see.

"Set the time, yes, I really don't have time to play for now. Maybe he saw me happy and happy, even though I was happy while working, and I enjoyed it all," said Fahri.

For four years he has never shot, Fahri does not deny that he misses returning to acting. Therefore, he often went to the shooting location when he was a producer.

"When the producer of the series, I immediately went to the field, I went to the shooting location because I really missed the shooting atmosphere," he said.

However, Fahri has not dared to accept the current offer of acting. With several businesses that have just started, he does not want his focus to be divided, so that his business does not run as planned.

"I feel that if I'm in front of the screen, my business doesn't work, even though all the businesses I have, I want everything to be in my hands, don't let anything mess up and have problems. I don't want that to happen because it's difficult to build all of this," he said.

Fahri also admitted that he had received several offers to play soap operas, but he could not accept it because of time considerations. However, he still received several offers to become an advertising star.

"If there is a soap opera (tawaran), it's just that I still can't because soap operas have to come to the location every day, so there's no other time but to strip. Moreover, I'm still just opening a restaurant too, so I don't think I can take soap operas yet," said Fahri.

"But yesterday I still got several advertising offers. I can still do ads, so I still take them. Because the shooting was only one to two days away, the shooting was also scheduled," he continued.

Even so, that doesn't mean he wants to completely leave the world of acting. Fahri thought of returning to star in films or soap operas in the future.

"But later I will think about playing a movie or soap opera again. That has become my discourse too," he said.

Fahri admitted that he would not refuse if he received an offer to play in a film or series that matched his educational background. He does not have a special dream character, but rather the theme of the story that is raised.

"Those who have legal relations, I will not refuse, like those who tell a case or solve a problem. What I do as a notary and make a film work, I will also not refuse. I don't think there are many films in Indonesia that discuss legal themes," he said.

From a point of view as a producer, Fahri also has an opinion about horror films in Indonesia. He sees horror as highly appreciated by domestic audiences, and calls it a very profitable genre in terms of business.

He hopes to produce horror films someday. However, he wants to make horror films that have the quality of all aspects.

"I really want (the production of horror films), but horror films that I want to make are quality horror films, not only those that are surprised or horror films that have'strange scenes'. I want to make horror films that are really good quality in any way," he said.

For what he has gone through so far, Fahri also told how he had to sacrifice several things. Known as a young, rich and happy man, Fahri admitted that he had to lose a lot of time playing with friends and family.

In college, I lost my playing time. I don't have time to enjoy playing with my college friends. But I really enjoy it all, I'm happy, it's not something I regret. In fact, I feel that the time I have has made me even more productive, not only for me but for around me too," said Fahri.

"In addition, I also lost time for my family, because my focus was divided," he continued.

In the future, Fahri intends to return to appear in front of the screen again. Not only that, he also hopes to develop a bigger business, and build a household with his loved ones.

"Hopefully in the next five years I've returned to the screen, I already have a lot of business that can help a lot of people. I feel that the business is not only useful for me but also useful for many people. Hopefully I'll be married in five years," concluded Fahri Azmi.
