Ivan Gunawan's Story Of Building A Mosque In Uganda, Starting With Nazar

JAKARTA - Ivan Gunawan finally revealed the beginning of the plan to build a mosque in Uganda. Igun shared this news through social media where he gave the name of the Indonesian Mosque. This plan stems from a (nazar) vow that the presenter has.

"I once had a vow 'I want to have a mosque' but yesterday the process of building a mosque in Indonesia did not come to an end," said Ivan Gunawan to Eko Patrio.

Then one day Ivan Gunawan saw a post from a charity institution that contained the difficulty of clean water in Africa. Igun also asked how much it would cost to build a well in Africa.

“Then he posted again. In Uganda they pray under branches, there are no prayer rugs. On the ground they put leaves like that,“ he continued.

Ivan Gunawan again asked about the budget and sent the money to the charity. Igun also immediately contacted his designer friends and asked his friends to consult about the mosque.

"He gave me a number, then I transferred it the same day, and Alhamdulillah until now the mandate from the mosque has come true. I asked for a design from a friend who designed my house and I used that design," said Ivan Gunawan.

He also answered the reason for choosing white for the color of his mosque. Igun explained that his friend said that most of the mosques in Uganda were colorful.

“My friend in Uganda said that the color of the mosque there is orange, shocking pink, green, yellow. Because I wanted the mosque to be white, I gave it the name Indonesian Mosque," he said.

Ivan Gunawan has not been able to attend the inauguration of his mosque, but he plans to visit the Indonesian Mosque during the fasting month.
