JAKARTA - Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk) announced the details of his first official solo album in 20 years, entitled Mythologies.
The album was originally composed for ballet music and was performed in July 2022 at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in Bordeaux.
Mythologies is co-produced by Opéra National de Bordeaux and Ballet Preljocal. At 90 minutes long, the album aims to tackle "the myths that shape the collective imagination".
The album will now be released on April 7 via Erato/Warner Classics and was described in a press release (via Pitchfork) as reflecting "the power of traditional large-scale symphony and, as such, encompassing the history of orchestral ballet music".
