Ferry Irawan Is Officially Detained After Undergoing A Series Of Examinations

JAKARTA - After undergoing questioning at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters, Surabaya on Monday, January 16, the police detained Ferry Irawan on suspicion of domestic violence (KDRT) against Venna Melinda.

The Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Dirmanto, confirmed the detention of Venna Melinda's husband. "Yes, (Ferry Irawan) was detained (Monday, January 16)," he said via text message when contacted by the VOI team.

Prior to his detention, Ferry was known to have undergone a medical examination. He was declared to have no significant health problems and could undergo further stages carried out by investigators.

In addition to the medical examination, Ferry has also undergone an examination related to fingerprints. "After being examined by a doctor, we also carried out an examination related to fingerprints, to make sure that the person concerned was FI, we identified the person concerned," said Dirmanto.

Ferry's detention was carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. "Detention is the authority of investigators as stated in Article 21 of the Criminal Procedure Code, that investigators have the authority to detain criminal acts that carry a penalty of 5 years or more," he said.

Dirmanto also said that there had been no request for a suspension of detention from Ferry Irawan until last night.
