JAKARTA - In commemoration of the series of Christmas celebrations with State-owned Enterprise (BUMN), the wife of the Minister of BUMN Liza Thohir together with Srikandi BUMN, the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) and the Joint Christmas Committee shared the joy of Christmas with more than 70 women assisted by the Gerasa Foundation in Bekasi, West Java (West Java).

The Gerasa Foundation is an orphanage that accompanies and cares for women with mental disabilities in the Bekasi area. The Gerasa Foundation has been running for almost 11 years. Currently there are more than 70 adult women with an age range of 20 to 60 years.

While they are at the Gerasa recovery home, these people with mental disabilities are also given skills training so they can be independent.

In addition to providing Christmas joy in the form of food, clothing, medicine and building materials, Liza Thohir through Telkom also provides assistance in the form of motivational training and photography to help people with mental disabilities to be independent.

On this occasion, Liza Thohir hopes that the assistance and training provided can help increase the ability, dexterity and recovery for the sisters at the Gerasa Foundation.

"Hopefully the assistance provided can provide enthusiasm and also provide Christmas joy for all of us," said Liza, in her written statement, Wednesday, December 21.

The activity was also enlivened by performances from persons with disabilities who are members of the Gerasa Foundation. Chairperson of Srikandi BUMN, Tina T Kemala Intan said that further independence training for women at the Gerasa Foundation will begin in January 2023.

"These great women have the potential to be independent, that's why we will definitely help through the training that we will hold for them," said Tina.

The founder of the Gerasa Foundation, Ferra Mananjang expressed his gratitude for the attention and joy that the Ministry of BUMN has shared with the Gerasa Foundation.

"Thank you for the assistance provided by the Ministry of BUMN, the assistance has really given new enthusiasm to the great women at the Geras Foundation," said Ferra.
