JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) together with Densus 88 Anti-terror will create a guide map or roadmap to provide assistance and guidance to former members of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI).

Head of BNPT Komjen Pol Eddy Hartono said the effort was the state's obligation to keep its citizens on the lap of the Republic of Indonesia.

"We with Densus 88 will create a kind of roadmap (or) roadmap to provide assistance and guidance to former former Jamaah Islamiyah. That is the state's obligation, don't let them come back again," said Eddy in a press statement at the end of 2024 in Jakarta, Monday, December 23, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the state's obligation to provide guidance and assistance to former JI members is also regulated in Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism.

The law contains guidance and assistance to national insight, religious insight, and entrepreneurial insight.

In addition, this effort is also in line with the mandate of Astacita Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Where the first Astacita is to strengthen the ideology of Pancasila, democracy and human rights (HAM).

Then, the eighth Astacita in strengthening the smoothing of life that is harmonious with the environment, nature and culture as well as increasing tolerance between religious communities to achieve a just and prosperous society.

BNPT noted that 1,315 former JI members pledged allegiance to the Republic of Indonesia in Surakarta, Central Java, Sunday (22/12). This is a sign that the banned organization has officially disbanded.

It is known, JI was designated as a banned organization since 2008. JI finally began to study their understanding of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019.

"So it is possible if it is calculated that there are 45 times of activities they gather and study. So far, apparently they are wrong in implementing the life of the nation and state," he said.

From the study conducted under the supervision of BNPT and Densus 88 Anti-terror, the organization finally disbanded.

"Well, in its development, that was yesterday in Solo, JI sincerely and consciously made a declaration (again the pledge to Pancasila)," explained Eddy.

Eddy conveyed that Densus 88 Anti-terror will enforce the law if a former terrorism convict or deradicalization partner commits his actions again.

"These are the manifestations of the implementation that BNPT and the ministry of the institution carry out, so that it becomes our joint commitment for today we convey it," he concluded.
