Arsenal Beat Sevilla, Bukayo Saka Injured Again

JAKARTA - Arsenal returned to winning ways after beating Sevilla 2-0 in the Champions League match at the Emirates Stadium, Thursday, November 9 in the morning WIB. Only, the forward Bukayo Saka is back in injury that threatens his chances of appearing in the English Premier League.

Sevilla has never been able to beat Arsenal. At two meetings in European competitions, Sevilla always lost.

In the first duel at home, Arsenal successfully finished Sevilla 2-1. This victory continued in their second match at home. In the duel, Arsenal again defeated the Europa League champions.

"We knew we would get three points. And we did it," said Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice.

"After the disappointing results [at the Carabao Cup] and then in the league, the manager [Mikel Arteta] stressed that we should not lose for the third time," he said again.

The player also responded to Arteta's challenge with maximum results. That victory, Arsenal confirmed his position at the top of the standings with nine points. A four-point lead with PSV Eindhoven and Lens who both have five points.

Arsenal also opened the door for qualifying for the last 16. Only competition remains tight because no team has yet passed the group. With two more games remaining, PSV and Lens still allowed to shift Arsenal.

Sevilla, who are at the bottom of the standings, can still compete. However, by having two points, Sevilla's move was not easy to get tickets to the last 16.

In that match, Arsenal performed optimally so as to master the game. The defeat to West Ham United and Newcastle United in domestic competitions did not affect the confidence of the players.

The Gunners' efficient game also gave results. Striker Leandro Trossard opened Arsenal's win after scoring a goal in the 29th minute. He managed to maximize the cross from Saka who received Jorginho's pass.

Only after that goal, Arsenal struggled to find the opponent's goal. The 1-0 score for Arsenal lasted until the end of the first half.

In the second half, Arsenal continued to attack. Kai Havertz's winger recorded two chances. However, he failed to use both to add goals.

On the other hand, Saka, who managed to strengthen the advantage of the North London club in the 64th minute. The goal started when he ran for a pass from Gabriel Martinelli and then fired a shot that beat goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.

After successfully bringing Arsenal 2-0 up, Saka was then pulled out in the 85th minute.

The injury he suffered forced the England international to leave the field and was replaced by Jakub Kiwior. The score did not change and Arsenal closed the game with a two-goal win.

Arteta herself hopes Saka is not seriously injured. According to him Saka had asked to be replaced because he felt there was a problem in his leg after a collision.

"I was told he felt uncomfortable to continue the match. I'm sure he's fine and can play in the league," said Arteta.

Arsenal will host Burnley in the Premier League match, Saturday, November 11, 2023. Arteta is optimistic thataka can appear in that match.
