JAKARTA Francis Ngannou are willing to wait for Tyson Fury for their rematch after the undisputed world champion fight against Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury and Usyk were originally scheduled to enter the ring on December 23. However, the report states that the two rulers of all heavyweight belts will only clash in February 2024.

"I'm willing to wait for Fury to fight Usyk. I know that they will fight," Ngannou told TMZ Sports.

"They already have a contract. So, they will fight in February (2024) not December 23 and it is my fault. I shouldn't have bothered the schedule so they fought on December 23 and maybe we'll have a rematch early next year," he added.

Ngannou and Fury previously clashed on October 29. This is one of the matches that brought together the two best cross-discipline fighters this year.

In that duel, Ngannou, who was not seeded because he had just made his debut in boxing, was able to bring down Fury after landing a hard left hook in the third round.

Fury then ended their duel with bruises and his forehead was injured by an uppercut from the opponent. However, he was declared victorious through a separate decision.

The jury's decision made Ngannou feel that his victory had been robbed. Therefore, the rematch against Fury is now in his priority.

Eddie Hearn, as the promoter of former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, is eager to bring his subordinates together with Ngannou in December.

However, Ngannou is not ready to fight until next year because the focus at this time is to rematch with Fury.

"First of all, it's still too fast. Second, my focus, in the world of boxing, is a rematch with Tyson. That's the most important thing for me right now, everything else for boxing will follow," Ngannou said.

Ngannou, who signed a contract with the MMA PFL organization earlier this year, hopes to return to the arena by 2024.

He has left MMA since early 2022 after he became UFC heavyweight champion. He separated from the UFC late last year and plans to return to the organization this year.
