Gresini Determines The Occupants Of The Right Side To Work On Ending The Marquez Brothers' Feud

JAKARTA - Alex Marquez admits that Gresini Racing CEO Nadia Padovani has determined the driver who will fill the right and left sides of the team's garage for MotoGP 2024. Alex said he would still live on the right side of the garage while his older brother, Marc Marquez, was on the left.

The CEO has determined the position to avoid the 'feud' of Marquez's duo. Although the two brothers are known to be close, before last week's Thailand MotoGP series Alex and Marquez confessed to the public that they were fiercely fighting over Gresini's garage side next season.

Alex is actually a Gresini rider who has joined the team since the beginning of this season. Together with Gresini, Alex occupies the right side of the garage.

Alex's position turned out to be a position that Marquez had always occupied even while defending Repsol Honda since 2013. Likewise when Marc became Alex's tandem in the 2020 season.

In an interview uploaded by MotoGP via Instagram, Marc admitted that he really wanted to fill the right side of the Gresini garage which was inhabited by Alex. But in fact Alex refused to hand it over, hearing the rejection of Marquez's younger brother adamant and expressed his intention to discuss with the Team Manager, Carlo

"I have to talk to the team manager. You (Alex Marquez) are indeed a teammate, but this is something that must be discussed with the team manager," said Marc, who then received a finger friction gesture for money from Alex.

"Everything does have a price, but I think (the garage position) is very expensive!" Marc continued as quoted by Marca on Wednesday, October 1.

"But I think it's even more expensive!" said Alex in response to the insistence which immediately made Marquez laugh.

However, the latest news states that Alex has received certainty about which side he will live in in Gresini's garage next season.

"Of course there is an opportunity between us, the first is about which side of the garage each of us will live in. However, everything is clear: Marc will change sides, he will live on the left side," said Alex, who believes his brother needs a new atmosphere.

I've told him that I've been there for a year. Nadia, the team owner has also told me, 'You'll be on the right, and you won't move from there'. However, apart from this injury, next year is an important year for us," concluded the younger brother.

Alex and Marquez are under contract with Gresini without direct ties from Ducati Corse. Their contracts will expire at the end of the 2024 season.

In Gresini Racing, both of them will ride old motorbikes, aka Ducati Desmosedici GP23, which this season is used by ducati Lenovo and Prima Pramac duo.
