If You Fail In Gresini Racing, Marc Marquez Could Decide To Retire

JAKARTA - Marc Marquez's younger brother, Alex Marquez, revealed his brother's retirement plan at the end of next year. This will only be realized if Marc Marquez fails in his first year in Gresini.

Marc Marquez officially moved from the Repsol Honda manufacturer to Gresini Racing starting MotoGP 2024. The move presented the collaboration of the Marquez brothers, because Alex had already become a Gresini rider.

Alex admitted that he had spoken to Marc Marquez about the experience with the Gresini team. From the conversation that happened, it seems that Marquez made a surprising statement.

The six-time world title holder said he would decide to retire if he fails in the first year with Gresini Racing.

He (Marc Marquez) said if he didn't enjoy it, he would retire. That's a possibility," said Alex Marquez, quoted from Crash on Wednesday, October 18.

Alex said the possibility of retiring was revealed by his older brother because he thought about aspects of his abilities after several serious injuries. However, Marquez still wants to try his best to enjoy the time with Gresini.

"He wanted to see if he could enjoy it again. Could he be even faster after the injury. I don't doubt it, but he has that doubt," said Alex.

"He had reason to have (a doubt) because I had doubts when I was driving a Honda last year," added Alex Marquez.

He then continued, the first year was the right time to see the developments that occurred. We'll see. One year is to see if he can enjoy this world again or not," said Alex Marquez.
