Qualifying The Semifinals Of The Hong Kong Open 2023, Leo/Daniel Will Beat Whoever The Opponent Is

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin managed to secure a ticket to the semifinals of Hong Kong 2023. The result was achieved after winning over Germany's Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel in the quarter-finals, Friday, September 15 afternoon WIB.

Appearing in Hong Kong Coliseum, Leo/Daniel had to go through a tough three-game struggle with a score of 18-21, 21-15 and 21-14. Although he was left behind in the early game, Leo was grateful because the final result sided with the representatives of Indonesia.

Realizing that he would step into the semifinals with a tougher opponent, Leo admitted that he should not be complacent. However, both of them will release whoever the next opponent is.

"Alhamdulillah, I am grateful that we have been able to enter the semifinals but don't be complacent because there are still next matches waiting for us," said Leo Carnando, quoted from the official PBSI release after the match.

"We are ready to fight anyone tomorrow, the important thing is that we must continue to provide maximum day by day," he continued.

For Daniel Marthin, success in qualifying for the semifinals is actually the material for evaluation. Daniel realized that they had to change better than the mistakes that occurred in the quarter-finals.

"In the first game, we actually used the right pattern of play. But unfortunately, we missed the final points," said Daniel.

"It's a habit that we have to reduce and quickly overcome. Disappear from service and die on our own. In the second and third games, we change our mindsets to be more focused."

"Paper does not change too much, only more confidently. We learn to continue to appear consistent. We sometimes get a lot of points but throw away more points. This must be reduced," said Daniel.

Furthermore, in the semifinals later Leo/Daniel will face the winner between Taiwan representatives, Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin vs Malaysia representatives, Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzudin.
