Indonesian Women's Singles Esten Nurumi Nothing To Lose Face Indonesia Masters 2023

JAKARTA The women's singles badminton player Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo admitted that she was not burdened in facing the Indonesia Masters 2023. However, she still has high confidence in facing this tournament.

Ester is one of several athletes who will participate in the event which will take place at the North Sumatra PBSI Sports Center, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, from September 5 to September 11, 2023.

Ester said she was really physically and mentally ready. In addition, her success in winning the Indonesia International Challenge (IIC) 2023 last week boosted her confidence.

"Tampil as the champion at the Indonesia International Challenge yesterday made self-confidence stronger. I will play without a burden, just nothing to lose," he said.

Ester will play the first round of the Indonesia Masters 2023 against the second seed from Taiwan, Lin Hsiang Ti. On paper, Ester lost her 0-1 win-loss record.

Ester experienced the only defeat against Lin when the two met in Slovenia International 2022.

Alwi Farhan's men's singles are also confident. He is just like Ester is the champion of the Indonesia International Challenge 2023.

"My preparation has been maximized and later will also play optimally. Although the opponent will be tougher, but I am ready. I ask for prayers from the people of Medan City so that later they can perform well," he said.

The Indonesia Masters are attended by 301 badminton players from 19 countries, including Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, England, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, United States, and host Indonesia.

This tournament with a total dadiah of 1.5 billion will be followed by several famous names. One of them is Nozomi Okuhara, a Japanese player who currently ranks 28 BWF.

Nozomi was once the 2017 World Champion in Glasgow and won the 2016 and 2021 All England champions, as well as won the 2015 Dubai World Super Series Finals.
