Get President Jokowi's Support To Clean Up PSSI, Erick Thohir Forms 2 Task Forces, This Is The Task

JAKARTA - The general chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, is increasingly serious about improving the organization he leads. He will form two task forces (satgas) so that PSSI is more transparent and accountable.

Erick also claims that this step has the support of members of the Executive Committee (Exco). In fact, President Joko Widodo also supports him in his efforts to clean Indonesian football from all negative labels and images.

"The president fully supports the clean-up efforts which have been difficult at PSSI. Apart from the president's support, I have also spoken to excos, and they support them," said Erick at a press conference at the PSSI office, Jakarta, Friday, April 28.

"So I will form two task forces, overseeing scoring and financial supervision of PSSI so that the plan to form a clean and open organization can be realized quickly," said Erick Thohir in a press conference held at the PSSI Office, Jakarta, Friday (28/4).

The Fixing Monitoring Task Force has the main task of evaluating the performance of each referee in the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, the Financial Oversight Task Force will oversee the PSSI financial audit process, which is being assessed by audit firm Ernst & Young.

"The two task forces will consist of several PSSI Excos and independent figures will collect data and conduct studies, both in terms of score fixing which may involve referees and also the completeness of PSSI's financial reports," explained the BUMN Minister.

He then denied the formation of the two task forces was for the sake of finding a person or party to blame for the dilapidated management of national football.

"However, to find the root of the problem that has made PSSI's image always bad, dilapidated, bribery, or playing games, and negative things. Because of that, I also involved professionals in this task force, one of whom, Mr. BPKP in the PSSI Financial Supervision Task Force," said Erick.
