JAKARTA - Boxing legend George Foreman says two women tried to blackmail him for allegedly sexually harassing them. However, he insisted he was innocent.

After the two women failed in their mission, a source close to the former world champion told TMZ that a lawsuit against Foreman may be filed this week in the city of Los Angeles.

He said the parents of both women had a friendly working relationship with Foreman more than four decades ago, and that the lawsuit would of course be sexual harassment of ex-boxers against them both in the '70s.

George Foreman realized the potential of the lawsuit, so he declared himself innocent of all charges and claimed that the two women who wanted to sue him just wanted money.

"Over the past six months," Foreman said, quoted by Marca on Thursday, "two women have tried to extort millions of dollars each from me and my family. They falsely claim that I sexually abused them more than 45 years ago in 1970-ish."

"I categorically deny these accusations. The pride I take in my reputation is tantamount to my sporting achievements, and I will not be intimidated by threats and baseless lies."

According to TMZ, each of the women asked Foreman for $12.5 million, confirming his innocence, while stating that he never sought trouble, but that he would defend himself.

"I was, and always will be, guided by my faith and belief in God," Foreman said. "I will work with my lawyers to fully and honestly expose my accusers' schemes and defend myself in court. I'm not looking for trouble, but I'm not running away from them either."

Foreman, born in 1949, debuted as a professional boxer in 1969 and retired in 1997. He won 76-5, 68 by knockout, and is the heavyweight champion.
