Destroying Salzburg 7-1, Bayern Munich To Champions League Quarter-finals

JAKARTA - Bayern Munich successfully advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals after beating RB Salzburg 7-1 in the second leg of the last 16 to pocket 8-2 on aggregate at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday morning.

Reporting from Antara, Wednesday, Bayern immediately led 3-0 until the 23rd minute through Robert Lewandowski's hat-trick. Serge Gnabry then increased the advantage to 4-0 until halftime. Thomas Muller scored twice in the second half and was followed by a goal from Leroy Sane.

Meanwhile, RB Salzburg reduced the gap through Maurits Kjaergaard's goal.

These results make Bayern advance to the quarterfinals with an aggregate advantage of 8-2. The two teams previously drew 1-1 in the first leg.

Bayern was awarded a penalty in the 12th minute after Maximilian Woeber fouled Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker advanced as executor and successfully brought Bayern a 1-0 lead.

Nicolas Seiwald had made a golden opportunity for Salzburg in the 14th minute. Seiwald's shot from close range could still be anticipated by Andreas Ulmer.

Woeber again fouled Lewandowski in the 21st minute and after a VAR review, the referee decided to award a penalty to Die Rotten. Lewandowski again advanced as executor and brought Bayern a 2-0 lead.

Bayern increased the advantage to 3-0 in the 23rd minute. Muller's cross forced Kohn off the goal line. Even so, it was Lewandowski who arrived first and deflected the ball.

Bayern really could not be contained by the visitors after increasing the advantage to 4-0. On the counter-attack, Coman found Gnabry running at the far post before firing a shot past Salzburg.

Salszburg threatened in the 45th minute. Karim Adeyemi found an opening, but Ulmer saved the ball. Score 4-0 remained until halftime.

Bayern immediately kicked off in the second half. Not much difference, but Salzburg is trying to be careful not to concede again.

Thomas Muller managed to bring Bayern a 5-0 lead in the 54th minute. Sane's through ball split the opponent's defense and was completed by Muller in the penalty box.

Bayern had conceded in the 70th minute. Through a counter-attack scheme, Maurits Kjærgaard smoothly managed to score a goal against Manuel Neuer to change the score to 1-5.

Bayern then increases the advantage again in the 83rd minute. The combination of Sane and Muller is unstoppable. Inside the penalty box, Muller sent a curling shot into the top right corner. Score to 6-1

Bayern wrapped up their victory with a goal in the 85th minute. This time it was Sane's turn to finish Lewandowski's pass with a hard kick into the top side of the opponent's net. The match ended with a score 7-1.
