Red Card In Bhayangkara FC Vs Persita: Munster Disappointed, Widodo Grateful

JAKARTA - Bhayangkara FC versus Persita Tangerang in Liga 1 2021/2022 continued on Tuesday, March 1, ending in a 2-2 draw. This match was fierce from the start.

Evidently, the match Bhayangkara FC vs. Persita was colored by one red card. Bhayangkara FC player, Melvin Platje, had to be sent off by the referee for kicking Persita player, Dedi Gusmawan.

Platje's kick landed right on the face of the former Mitra Kukar player. Dedi even lay down and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Platje's red card made it difficult for Bhayangkara to win in the remaining matches.

"Conceding the second goal made me a little disappointed, but it was a bit difficult to play with 10 men in the last 20 minutes. However, we are always chasing a win in every game," said Bhayangkara FC coach, Paul Munster, in a press conference after the match, as reported by Antara.

If Munster is disappointed, it is not the case with Persita's coach, Widodo C. Putro. He admitted that he was grateful to get one point even though he initially targeted victory in this match.

"The most important thing in the future is to continue to improve, not to make mistakes that will become goals for the opposing team," he said.

Persita actually took the lead in the 11th minute through the action of Harisson Cardoso de Oliveira. However, four minutes later, Anderson Salles brought Bhayangkara equalized.

In fact, Salles brought The Green Force back ahead in the extra minutes of the first half. The advantage only lasted until the 68th minute before Edi Febriansah scored the equalizer.

With this result, Bhayangkara FC is in third place in the League 1 standings with 55 points. While Persita Tangerang is in 10th position with 35 points.
