LDKPI Sends IDR 31.9 Billion Of Medical Aid And Medical Devices To Palestine

JAKARTA - The government through the International Development Cooperation Fund Institute (LDKPI) or Indonesian AID sent medical equipment and medicines to Palestine. The value of the goods brought by the plane reached US$2 million or around Rp31.9 billion.

LDKPI President Director Tormarbulang Lumbantobing or Tor Tobing said the assistance was a commitment from the government to help with the humanitarian disaster, especially in Palestine. The goods were dispatched on Monday, November 20 yesterday.

"Regarding our assistance to Palestine, as we know, this conflict has been going on for more than a month and has also resulted in many victims. Of course, as a form of solidarity with the humanitarian disasters that occurred there, the government, in this case LDKPI, has also prepared assistance for the affected Palestinian people," Tor Tobing told reporters, Wednesday, November 22.

The assistance will later be handed over to UNRWA or the agency in the United Nations (UN) which focuses on dealing with Palestinian refugees. This institution then distributes aid to those in need.

In the future, Indonesia AID plans to play an active role in the international community. This work unit at the Ministry of Finance has several missions to support the Sustainable Development Goals or sustainable development.

"We also have a mission to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as support foreign political policies, and of course for the national economy," said Tor.

In addition, Tor Tobing said it would also increase bilateral cooperation with foreign governments and institutions and collaborate with other parties. "Indonesia AID as an emerging donor will play an active role in supporting efforts to deal with global development problems," he said.

"It is related to education, health, and climate change," he concluded.
