JAKARTA - The Abu Dhabi Police, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday launched a new fleet to support patrol duty, the Rabdan One electric car.

The car, which is assembled in the Khalifa Industrial Estate, was built in collaboration with local NWTN manufacturers. The car with the dominant white color and dark blue accent display the name and symbol of the Abu Dhabi Police.

Rabdan One is powered by a 510 kilowatt-powered power plant driven by two turbines, with an estimated torque of 1,040 newton-meters. This allows it to accelerate from 0kpj to 100kph within 4.5 seconds. Once charging, this car is capable of traveling a distance of up to 860 kilometers, reported The National News November 14.

"This vehicle operates using the most advanced remote technology in the world, differentiated based on energy efficiency and emission reduction capabilities," the WAM state news report.

It is not clear when the car will be used by the Abu Dhabi Police. However, the prototype of Rabdan One was a major success at the Adipec 2023 meeting last October.

The five-seater SUV is one of the first SUVs produced in the UAE, featured at the booth of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology at the Global Media Congress held on November 14-16 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).

Unlike Abu Dhabi, Dubai Police, which has already operated electric vehicles, chose foreign brands for its patrol fleet.

Last October, they received the Hongqi E-HS9 SUV. This June, they announced a well-known automotive-based electric patrol car, the Audi of the E-tron GT Hospital.
