Police Arrest Elderly Suspected Of Obscenity Of Elementary School Students In Trenggalek

TRENGGALEK - Police officers from Resort Trenggalek, East Java arrested an elderly person with the initials SIN (68) who was suspected of molesting four elementary school students during the period September to October 2023.

"This case was revealed after one of the victims complained about the sexual abuse he experienced to his parents. Then this case was reported to us (Trenggalek Police) and handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit," said Trenggalek Police Chief, AKBP Gathut Sunu Wibowo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 13.

SIN has now been detained. The police have examined a number of witnesses, and it is known that the victim was four elementary school students at the same school.

In carrying out his action, SIN lured the victim by buying snacks to obey his grandfather's lecherous behavior.

"It is known that the suspect is often in the field of schools near the victim's school. That's when the suspect began looking for potential victims," he said.

SIN's indecent acts were carried out near the school environment. The police did not explain in detail the obscene acts committed by SIN which had been named a suspect.

The police chief only said that SIN's actions had not yet led to rape or the like.

"Not until sexual intercourse, so the suspect touched the sensitive part of the victim," he said.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with the Child Protection Act with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison. The sentence increases by a third if there is more than one victim.
