Garut residents enthusiastically watched a wayang golek performance that was echoed by Ganjar volunteers throughout West Java

GARUT - Thousands of enthusiastic residents came to watch the Sundanese wayang golek art show from Giri Harja 3 Putra organized by the West Java team Ganjar (Sajajar) as a volunteer for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD in the Sukarame Village field, Leles District, Garut Regency, Saturday night, November 4.

Residents from various age groups crowded the open field around 19.00 WIB, long before the golek puppet show began at around 22.00 WIB.

Residents gathered in the field facing a magnificent stage that was designed to be interesting and there were lights that colored the stage so that it seemed more and more magnificent.

The puppet golek performance with Dalang Giri Harja 3 Putra, Yogaswara Sunandar, displayed wayang skilledly, especially when presenting puppet characters.

Especially when the puppeteer showed the puppet characters, as well as various interesting, unique, and funny characters, were immediately greeted with great fanfare by the people who watched them.

The puppeteer by playing the puppet leader conveyed a message about a leader who must defend the people, a leader who makes the people his leader, namely "Mrku Rakyat".

In the puppet show, Cepot said that the tested leader, Ganjar Pranowo, had served as a member of the DPR RI for two terms, then the Governor of Central Java for two terms as well.

Cepot conveyed to the public to maintain overtime, protect ulama, maintain culture, and maintain food security.

In addition, he conveyed that Ganjar Pranowo was a descendant of a great scholar who of course Ganjar Pranowo's leadership was in accordance with the character of the people of West Java.

The wayang golek performance was greeted enthusiastically by residents who flocked to watch regional arts to the field of Sukarame Village until the show ended in the early hours of the morning.

Sukarame Village Head Isep said almost all residents of Sukarame Village from children to parents were all present to witness the Giri Harja 3 Putra's wayang golek show.

The activity organized by Sajajar, he said, was in commemoration of Youth Pledge Day which conveyed a message to the public to always build togetherness, maintain overtime, culture, and protect scholars.

Sukarame village, he said, as a village that received the benefits of holding the wayang golek show, is certainly grateful because the residents of Sukarame Village get entertainment as well as friendship.

According to him, the performance of the art of wayang golek does not only provide entertainment while preserving regional arts, but has had an impact on boosting the community's economy.

"The economy is alive, there are traders," said Isep.

The head of the Ganjar Garut Berjaya Volunteer (Japura) Rio Harto Nugroho said that the golek puppet performance was to re-socialize Sundanese culture and arts, which are currently rarely introduced to the public.

He hopes that the performance of wayang golek art can make people, especially now that many children are believed to be more in love and increase knowledge about Sundanese arts.

"Hopefully, according to the agreement, we can introduce more about art, especially this art is a golek puppet, adding to the knowledge of Sundanese art," he said.

The head of Sajajar, Garut Regency, Heri Herdiyana, added that the show was a golek puppet art to foster love for the art of wayang golek to all elements of society, especially in Garut Regency.

The puppet golek performance, he said, was organized by Sajajar which will be held not only in Garut, but also in a number of other areas, as a form of Ganjar Pranowo's attention to arts and culture.

"Hopefully Pak Ganjar can pay more attention to culture, apart from in Sundanese but elsewhere, more love for cultural arts in the regions," he said.
