Jokowi Volunteer, Eko Sulistyo Proposes Resignation From PLN Commissioner After Joining TPN Ganjar-Mahfud

JAKARTA - Commissioner of PT PLN (Persero) Eko Sulistyo stated that he would resign from his position after being appointed Deputy Chair of the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN). The resignation letter will be taken care of on Thursday. "I was just appointed yesterday. So I will take care of the resignation letter from the PT PLN Commissioner to BUMN as of today. Please pray for his blessing," said Eko in a statement received in Jakarta, Thursday, October 26. TPN Ganjar-Mahfud added strength in winning the presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate they carried in the 2024 election, namely the entry of the volunteer team. "Joining a team from volunteers will make us more solid in working to win Ganjar-Mahfud," said TPN Chairman Ganjar-Mahfud Arsjad Rasjid at a press conference in Jakarta, yesterday. He gave an example of joining Jokowi volunteer activists such as Eko Sulistyo, Mostar Bona Ventura, and Rambun Tjajo as Deputy Chair of TPN Ganjar-Mahfud. Eko Sulistyo previously served as Deputy IV for Political Communication and Information Dissemination of the Presidential Staff Office. Eko is also known as a person who has been close to Jokowi since pursuing his career in Solo, namely the Consultant of the Surakarta City Spatial Planning Service. Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start on 19-25 October 2023. As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
