JAKARTA - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei believes the United States cannot be separated from the situation in Gaza, insinuating the visit of Western leaders to Israel after the attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Khamenei on Wednesday accused the United States of involvement in crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

"The US is clearly an accomplice to the Zionist regime in its crimes against Gaza. In fact, it is the US that regulates crimes committed in Gaza," Khamenei said in a speech posted on his official X account, according to Al Arabiya, October 25.

"Blood of oppressed children in Gaza is in the hands of the US," Khamenei said.

Furthermore, Khamenei satirized the visit of Western leaders to Israel after the Hamas attack on October 7 citing "because they saw the Zionist regime collapsing."

"The Zionist regime has suffered a severe blow. They have been injured and paralyzed. Western countries are struggling to defend their strength by using weapons and bombs," Khamenei criticized.

It is known that armed conflict broke out in Gaza, after Hamas carried out an attack on Israeli territory on October 7, causing Israel to carry out massive attacks and a total siege of the Palestinian enclave, after about 1,400 of its citizens were killed as a result of the attack.

As of Wednesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said the death toll from Israeli attacks on Gaza had reached 6,546, as quoted by Anadolu.

"The death toll includes 2,704 children, 1,584 women and 364 elderly people," ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said at a press conference in Gaza City.

He added that 17,439 other people were injured in the attack, while 1,600 people were still trapped under the rubble, including 900 children.

Tehran, long accused Israel of supplying weapons to Hamas, is the main source of financial and military support for the Palestinian militant group, praising the October 7 attack but denying involvement in planning until its implementation.
