Riau Police Hunt 3 Pekanbaru Police Detainees Who Escaped From Cells

PekanBARU - Sub-Directorate III Jatanras Polda Riau together with the Pekanbaru Police Satreskrim are still hunting for three prisoners from the Tenayan Raya Police who escaped from the cell some time ago.

The Head of Sub-Directorate III of Jatanras Polda Riau, Kompol Indra Lamhot Sihombing, explained that the three detainees who were still being chased were SP, SU, and AN.

"There are still 3 more that we are after, hopefully it will be successful. The three are SP, SU, and AN," said Lamhot, Tuesday, October 24.

He explained that previously his party had succeeded in arresting 14 detainees from the Tenayan Raya Police who escaped from the cell. They were arrested in several areas in the provinces of Riau and North Sumatra.

In the latest developments, four detainees were arrested in Pelalawan Regency and North Sumatra Province (North Sumatra) with the initials ZU, RI, ER, and MU. "They were arrested in Pelalawan and North Sumatra," he added.

Previously, the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Police had succeeded in capturing the brains of the perpetrators named M alias Alex, EH alias Edi, and SA alias Soni Gober. The three of them were paralyzed by firm action by the police for trying to escape and fight back during their arrest.

"He is the mastermind behind this escape, namely M alias Alex, EH alias Edi, and SA alias Soni Gober. We must act decisively against them. The other seven detainees were arrested without a fight, namely FR, RA, YS, HS, RW, WT, and KK," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the Riau Police, Kombes Asep Darmawan.

Asep said that the detainees had now been detained in the custody of the Pekanbaru Police. They were arrested in Kampar, Siak, Pelalawan, and Pekanbaru Regencies.

"Currently, we have taken action against the detainees of the Tenayan Raya Police who fled. They are currently being held at the Pekanbaru Police," said Asep.

For information, 17 detainees in the Tenayan Raya Police cell, Kulim District, Pekanbaru City, escaped on Thursday (21/9/2023). The detainees consisted of police detainees and prosecutor detainees. They managed to escape through the back wall which was broken into using a screwdriver at around 02.30 in the morning WIB.

Four detainees, namely ZU, RI, ER, and MU, were arrested in two different locations in Riau and North Sumatra (North Sumatra). Meanwhile, 11 other detainees were arrested in Kampar, Siak, Pelalawan, and Pekanbaru City.
