Indonesia Explores Cooperation In Electric Vehicle Technology With Chinese Chongqing

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP), Moeldoko welcomed the offer of cooperation in the field of electric vehicles and agriculture with the Government of Chongqing City, China. The collaboration aims to make investments from the area flow faster to Indonesia. This was expressed in his meeting with delegates from the City Government of Chongqing, China at the Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, Wednesday 11 October. Especially in the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem and digitalization which is the main focus of development in Indonesia today. Moeldoko revealed that the government's attention is currently centered on the development of human resources (HR), so that the transfer of knowledge about technology with friendly countries will support the use of the younger generation towards the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045. In addition, Indonesia and China's popularity is equally large in this Asian region, China has good technology, this could be a good momentum to be able to exchange technology with Indonesia," said Moeldoko. Regarding digitalization, Moeldoko mentioned the existence of acceleration in public services carried out with the use of digitalization. In Indonesia, we call it a Public Service Mall, we are optimistic that in the future the quality of our public service will be better,''' he said. In addition, electric vehicles, both cars and electric motors are growing issues in Indonesia. This, according to Moeldoko, is in line with the development of technology that has been carried out in the City of Chongqing. Where the city located in the West China has strength in high technology and heavy industries, including the development of electric cars, smart cars, and cellphone production.

"In Indonesia, regulations regarding investment in the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem already exist, if in accordance with the agreement, of course we are open to cooperation with friendly countries, including China," said Moeldoko. On that occasion, the Chongqing City Government also encouraged the Indonesian government to open a representative office in Chongqing City. This aims to make investments from the area flow faster to Indonesia.
