JAKARTA - Syahrul Yasin Limpo chose to place his position as Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) in the midst of the alleged corruption case that ensnared him. Before Syahrul arrived at the Mtero Jaya Police, a summons circulated from investigators from the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya against Heri, who is the driver of Syahrul.

The letter numbered B/10339/VIII/RES.3.3./2023/Ditreskrimsus stated that there was an investigation into alleged corruption in the form of extortion committed by the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

In addition to the investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Syahrul was reportedly caught in the alleged corruption of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) along with two of his subordinates, namely the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono, and the Director of Agricultural Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta. Investigations are still being carried out by the KPK.
