Former President Wants Russian Missiles To Have High Accuracy, Able To Face Air Defense And Electronic Wars In Ukraine

JAKARTA - Russian missiles used in the field of special military operations or the Ukraine war, have high accuracy, and are capable of facing the air defenses and electronic warfare of opponents supported by the West.

Russia wants to increase its weapons capabilities, including missiles with high accuracy, thus requiring multi-level trials, as well as being able to face the opponent's air defenses and electronic warfare.

That was said by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, while following a test launch of a high-accuracy missile at the Kapustin Yar test site.

"You and I are present at a new, upgraded high-accuracy missile launch test. The testing will continue," Medvedev said at a meeting.

The former Russian president further pointed out that the new missile had been developed specifically for use in the special military operations zone.

"The characteristics such as reach and accuracy have been significantly improved. The warheads have also been upgraded," Medvedev said.

He said the test results were important to fend off new weapons supplied to Ukraine.

On the occasion he also stressed the importance of Russian weapons having resistance to enemy air defenses and electronic warfare, referring to weapons supplied by the West to Kyiv.

"The main thing we have to achieve is the resilience to modern air defenses and electronic warfare facilities owned by NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and supplied to our enemies," Medvedev said.

He noted that Russia is actively improving its equipment and is trying to find a way to fight, even the latest Western model, with appropriate precautions.

"This will continue until our last victory," he said.

He added that discussing issues related to the creation and modernization of various high-accuracy missiles, complexes and systems, taking into account the needs of the armed forces involved in special military operations, as well as future weapons, would provide reliable protection for the country in the long term.
