SURABAYA - Surabaya City Police (Polrestabes) arrested two underage teenagers involved in drugs with dozens of pills or koplo pills while patrolling the highway.

Head of the Public Relations Section (Kasi) of the Surabaya Polrestabes AKP Haryoko Widhi said the dozens of Koplo pills were confiscated from two teenagers.

"From the examination at the TKP, we found LL 76 Pills and one bag," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 26.

Haryoko explained that the two teenagers were arrested by the Samapta Presisi Respati Team of the Surabaya Police during a patrol in the Jalan Genteng Kali area.

"When we carried out a visible sweep from afar we found suspicious motorcycle users and they rushed away about six youths," he said.

Then, he said, the two teenagers were successfully secured, which the team then handed over to the Genteng Sector Police (Polsek) to undergo further investigation.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Genteng Police, Iptu Harsya, said that the case would be restorative justice, because both were in the underage category.

"Still a minor. From his confession (pill) it is used by himself. We will call his parents and the head of the local environment to be asked to make a statement," said Harsya.

Even so, he continued, his party will continue to search both of them to obtain information about where to get the goods.

"Based on their confession, he said he got the item with a mine system," he said.

On the other hand, Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi encourages all parents to play a more active role in monitoring their children's social patterns, so as not to fall into drug abuse.

According to him, the attention of parents is the most basic thing to prevent a child from having wrong relationships, because they have a supervisory function.

In addition, Eri stated that the Surabaya City Government maximizes the existence of RW centers in every residential area as educational containers, through the "Family Learning Center" (Puspaga) program.

One of the steps was to socialize the pattern of anticipation of drug use to the public, because currently there are 24 urban villages in Surabaya with drug hazard status by collaborating with the National Narcotics Agency and the local police.
