Ukrainian President Meets Biden At White House Next Week

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the White House to meet with US President Joe Biden next week, reports said.

Several US media reported this news, citing a US official, but did not provide certainty of the time or details, as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Friday, September 15.

The White House's National Security Council has not issued any responses until this report is broadcast.

Zelenskyy will be in New York next week to attend the UN General Assembly.

There he will hold several bilateral meetings, including with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss efforts to revive the Black Sea food deal.

Zelenskyy visited Washington in December to meet Biden and address at the Congressional plenary session which will be his place of gratitude to the US parliament for providing assistance to his country.

Biden announced his visit to Kiev in February, and the two leaders last met last July on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

During his visit to Washington DC, Zelenskyy will visit Capitol Hill when Biden asks Congress to approve military and humanitarian aid worth more than US$24 billion (Rp368.5 trillion) for Ukraine.
