JAKARTA - A house with damaged buildings and deer in the Mancung alley, RT 12/12, Utan Kayu Selatan Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta, caught the attention of local residents. For 15 years, the house was left by the owner empty. Even now, the house is a snake nest.

Rini Wijiastuti (48), a resident of RT 12/12, Utan Kayu Selatan Village, told the story of a dozen snakes living in the empty house. He said residents had evacuated 13 pythons from the empty house.

Rini, whose house is only 3 plots from where the snake was found, admitted that she felt disturbed. According to Rini, previously the empty house was occupied by the owner 15 years ago. However, after the owner of the house fell ill, the house began to be left empty.

"It's a place not being treated, it's not taken care of either. It doesn't look like it. But I don't know, suddenly there was news of the discovery of a snake. I knew it was here and there, not a month ago. But the time period was that the snake came out very quickly. But the position (the snake came out) at night after the Maghrib (the snake) ran out," Rini told reporters, Friday, September 15.

Rini said, the first time a snake came out on the night of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, was August 17. A snake mysteriously suddenly came out of the burial place in the empty house. However, according to him, the exit of a snake was only around the inside to the terrace of the house.

"At night it was at 00.30 WIB. I saw that before, the snake was on the streets and the position was eating rats," he said.

The residents managed to find out the snake from inside the empty house. The snake was caught before entering the hiding place.

Until now, the Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) officers are still sweeping the snake in the house. However, the officers encountered problems because the owner of the house limited the officers' movement.

"The owner of the house is not cooperative. The ceiling and septic tank of the house cannot be dismantled," Dani told reporters, Thursday, September 14.
