The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has uncovered one of the largest drug networks in Indonesia. This network is controlled by Fredy Pratama.

"Revealing the crime of drug crimes against the Fredy Pratama network," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Wahyu Widada, to reporters, Tuesday, September 12.

The disclosure of this drug network is the result of the collaboration between the National Police and the Royal Malaysia Police, the Royal Thai Police, and the US-DEA. Sebanyyak 39 members of the drug network Fredy Pratama were arrested.

"In this operation, 39 people were arrested for the period May 2023 until now," he said.

According to Wahyu, Fredy Pratama's network is always neat in distributing drugs. In particular, how to communicate. They are said to use the BlackBerry Messenger Enterprise, Threema, and Wire applications to exchange information.

In addition, Fredy Pratama's network is included in the cathogries of one of the largest in Indonesia. This is because 10.2 tons of crystal methamphetamine was confiscated from the network during the last three years.

"The Fredy Pratama syndicate is a fairly large drug syndicate because the results of the disclosure of drug cases by Bareskrim Polri and Ranks from 2020-2023 there were 408 police reports and a total of 10.2 tons of crystal methamphetamine confiscated, and affiliated with the Fredy Pratama group," Wahyu explained.

However, the figure of Fredy Pratama has not yet been caught. However, his whereabouts were detected in the Thai region.

"Now the DPO is still in Thailand on behalf of Fredy Pratama," said Wahyu.

Meanwhile, dozens of Fredy Pratama's subordinates who have been arrested are suspected of being under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (2) of the Narcotics Law.

In addition, some of them were also charged with Article 3, 4, 5 of Law No. 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Excluding Money.
