JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the process of procuring the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker). It is suspected that there was a specific direction from the suspect in this case which made the state finally lose money.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said the directive was examined by a witness named Ahmad Elvan Fadli. The Ministry of Manpower Civil Servant (PNS) was questioned on Wednesday, August 30 yesterday.

"Witnesses were present and their knowledge was explored, among others, related to the witness' participation as one of the committee's teams in procuring the TKI protection system at the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and the alleged existence of certain directions from the parties designated as suspects in this case," Ali said in a written statement, Thursday, August 31.

Actually, investigators will also examine the head of the protection system procurement committee, Aniek Soelistyawati. However, yesterday he was not present and will be questioned today.

As previously reported, the KPK said that there were three suspects named in the corruption case at the Ministry of Manpower. Although the KPK has not yet submitted it, the Secretary of the Planning and Development Agency of the Ministry of Manpower I Nyoman Darmanta is reportedly involved.
