Cianjur Police Investigate 11 TIP Reports Majority Of PMI In The Middle East

The Cianjur Police, West Java, is investigating dozens of reports related to the case of the People's Sale Crime (TPPO) that befell migrant workers from Cianjur, most of the reports that came in were illegal migrant workers in a number of Middle Eastern countries.

Cianjur Police Chief, AKBP Aszhari Kurniawan said that during the past week his party had received 11 TIP reports from the family of migrant workers from Cianjur who asked to be sent back to Indonesia due to various problems.

"On average, tempted by offers from sponsors who promise large salaries and proper workplaces, but after arriving in other countries, what was promised was not proven, some even reported that migrant workers were tortured," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 24.

The Cianjur Police Chief asked the public to report the incident that happened to their family members, including those who departed as illegal migrant workers, so that they could immediately be followed up, including efforts to return to their hometowns in Cianjur.

His party also asked the public to take an official route if they wanted to work abroad by contacting the relevant agencies or official labor service companies recognized by the government to avoid TIP.

"Those who are interested in becoming migrant workers must take an official route and not go illegally because it will harm themselves and their families. Visit the relevant agencies or official labor service companies to get information," he said.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cianjur Police, Iptu Tono Listianto, said that his party was still investigating 11 reports related to the TIP case that came from the victim's family, because several of them were already abroad, precisely in a number of Middle Eastern countries.

"Several reports that are included in the victims are already in the placement country, so we will confirm first. Since the case of Ida, a migrant worker from Cianjur, many reports from the public have been submitted to the Cianjur Police," he said.

The police will explore all incoming reports and will soon be processed due to various obstacles and obstacles that are found, such as in other countries having different legal rules.
