PAN-Golkar Meeting Support Prabowo, Jokowi: That's Party Affairs

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo emphasized that the coalition of political parties in the election of the President and Vice President (Pilpres) is not his business, but a matter of political parties. This was conveyed by Jokowi when answering questions about Golkar's steps and the National Mandate Party which recently joined Gerindra and the National Awakening Party to support Prabowo Subianto in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. "Yes, that's the business of the parties. That's Golkar's business, PAN's business, Gerindra's business, PKB's business, party affairs," said Jokowi after handing over an honorary sign at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, August 14. Jokowi said that no communication was made by the parties to him regarding the support of the presidential election. "No, no, no, that's their business, coalition matters, cooperation matters are party matters, I'm not the party chairman," Jokowi explained. The President also said that the coalition of parties supporting the government was still ongoing. "Yes, still," said Jokowi.

Previously, the Golkar Party and the National Mandate Party (PAN) stated that they were in a coalition with the National Awakening Party (PKB) and the Gerindra Party to declare Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election.
