JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono handed over 186 electric service motorbikes to DKI Jakarta Transportation Service officers who will be used in carrying out their work.
"Today I was with the Head of the Transportation Office at his office, together with the Head of the DKI Auction Agency and the Deputy Head of the Transportation Agency to hand over 186 two-wheeled operational vehicles for battery-based Transportation Agency and handed over to 5 regions," said Heru at the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency office, Friday, August 11.
Heru explained that the 186 electric service motorbikes that will be used for the services of their subordinates are included in the procurement allocated from the APBD with a budget of IDR 7 billion.
The former mayor of North Jakarta said that his party would again increase the procurement of electric service vehicles to 800 units. The procurement of battery-based service vehicles is carried out in stages.
"For now, there are still 186 motorbikes, out of the total planned 800 battery-based two-wheeled vehicles," said Heru.
Heru emphasized that the electric service vehicle was made using a local component of 53.37 percent.
"So, all of them meet the requirements, in accordance with the President's orders, priority local content, to advance the domestic industry," he said.
On that occasion, Heru explained that the procurement of battery-based electric service vehicles was in accordance with Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Use of Battery-Based Electric Vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicles) as Operational Service Vehicles and/or Individual Vehicles of the Central Government and Regional Government Agencies Service.
The goal is that the use of battery-based service vehicles is expected to help reduce exhaust emissions. "Hopefully, residents will slowly switch to electric vehicles," added Heru.
