Consolidating The 2024 Election, Megawati Gathers PDIP Management Including Ganjar Today

Chairman (Ketum) of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri gathered all leaders of the DPP, DPD and PDIP DPC administrators today, Monday, July 31.

The management of the bull party gathered for the Party Internal Organization Consolidation Meeting and listened to a direct briefing from Megawati at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta

The presidential candidate from PDIP Ganjar Pranowo also attended the closed consolidation meeting. The meeting was delivered by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. Almost all of the PDIP DPP Chairs were also present and some of them became ministers such as Arif Wibowo, Bambang Wuryanto, Ahmad Basarah and Olly Dondambey. "This consolidation meeting is to strengthen the readiness of all Party organs so that more militants win PDIP and Ganjar Pranowo," said Hasto in a press statement received by ANTARA.

Meanwhile, Megawati briefed from ideological, historical, and strategic aspects with confidence to win the legislative and presidential elections in 2024.

"Mrs. Megawati asked for a meeting directly, not online or online, given the importance of consolidation. Mrs. Megawati's briefing further motivates party officials in all regions," he said.

Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start from October 19 to November 25, 2023. As stipulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election that meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election of members of the DPR. Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, pairs of candidates can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
