High Drought Potential, DIY Guningkidul Gets 3 Well Points Assistance And Drilling Process

YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY) provided assistance with three well points including the drilling process in the Padukuhan Serpeng area, Kalurahan Boyfriendejo, Gunungkidul Regency.

"DIY Police provided assistance with three drilling wells, one of which was built in Serpeng, Dikejo," said Yogyakarta Police Chief Inspector General (Pol) Suwondo Nainggolan in Gunungkidul, Monday, June 19, as reported by Antara.

He said the handover of the drill well was part of the National Police's social service which was carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

This activity, he said, was not self-sufficiency, but was carried out by the Yogyakarta Regional Police together with the government and the TNI. The selection of the Serpeng area was because the DIY Police survey team saw that the area still needed clean water, especially when it was felt by residents during dry music.

To overcome the problem of clean water, the Yogyakarta Regional Police collaborated with the Serayu Opak River Basin Center (BBWSSO) for drilling.

"Water is the source of life for all living things. We also analogize water as a symbol of purity that must be present in the community and exists for people like the Police," he said.

The Regional Police Chief also said the assistance provided could be useful for local residents. In addition, the Yogyakarta Regional Police also provided thousands of food packages to house rehabilitation assistance.

"Please correct us so that the services we provide can be maximized," said SuwondO.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Gunungkidul Sunaryanta expressed his appreciation. He did not deny that there are still residents who need clean water, especially during the dry season. One of them is in the Padukuhan Serpeng area.

This area is the largest sub-district in Gunungkidul to have 26 padukuhan. Geographically located, clean water services have not been able to reach all existing areas," said the regent.

He asked the public to maintain the assistance provided by the Yogyakarta Regional Police. The drill well is expected to be managed properly by the community and the water raised can be channeled to residents' homes.

"Once again I thank the Yogyakarta Regional Police," said Sunaryanta.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Gargejo Village, Suhadi, welcomed the assistance of the drill well. The quality of clean water in the southern region, especially the Serpeng, he said was not too good.

As for Dikejo, he already has PAMDes. However, this facility has not touched all the residents of Bangkarejo, which reaches around 5,700 Heads of Families (KK).

"This drill well will be managed directly by residents, and channeled to their homes," said Suhadi.
