Hajj Officers Asked To Actively Submit Weather Information To Congregants, West Sumatra Governor: Many Old People Need Extra Handling

West Sumatra Governor (West Sumatra) Mahyeldi Ansharullah asked Hajj officers to convey information about weather conditions in the Holy Land to the congregation so that they could prepare to adjust.

"This information is important because some of our prospective pilgrims are old, so extra handling is needed," he said in Padang, Sunday, June 4.

According to him, the weather in the Holy Cities of Makkah and Medina in Saudi Arabia is likely much hotter than the weather in the country.

Therefore, according to him, members of the regional Hajj guide team need to convey information about weather conditions in the Holy Land and steps that the congregation should take to prevent health problems during hot weather.

In addition, he said, the regional Hajj guide team should monitor the condition of the congregation, most of which are the first time performing the pilgrimage in Makkah.

Regarding the implementation of services for pilgrims, the Governor said that the general service preparation was going well.

"So far, the implementation of the preparation of the pilgrimage at the Padang embarkation is quite good. In 2022 it will even be one of the best. For 2023 we have asked that services from officers be maximized," he said, confiscated by Antara.

"Our congregation is scheduled to fly to the Holy Land on June 5, 2023. We will release together," he continued.

According to the Head of Hajj and Umrah Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of West Sumatra Province, Ramza Husmen, the first flying group of pilgrims for Hajj in West Sumatra is scheduled to enter a hajj dormitory in Padang City starting June 4, 2023 and departing for the Holy Land starting June 5, 2023.

The embarkation of the Padang Hajj is scheduled to dispatch 17 flying groups (kloters) for Hajj candidates, consisting of 12 congregational groups from West Sumatra Province, four congregational groups from Lampung Province, and one congregational group from the two provinces.
