KPU Reveals 24 DPD Candidates Have Registered Until The 2nd Day

The General Elections Commission (KPU) noted that 24 candidates for DPD members had registered until the second day of registration, Tuesday, May 2.

"Reports on the recapitulation of registration for DPD candidates, starting from the first day of registration, Monday, May 1, 2023, to the second day of registration, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 16.00 WIB, the total registration received was from 24 prospective candidates," said KPU member Idham Holik in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 3, confiscated by Antara.

Idham added, this figure is based on data published in the Candidate Information System (Silon) application.

The 24 candidates for DPD members are one who registered with the Independent Election Commission (KIP) Aceh, two candidates at the KPU Banten Province, a candidate at the Gorontalo KPU, a candidate at the West Kalimantan KPU, a candidate at the South Kalimantan KPU, a candidate at the East Kalimantan KPU, a candidate at the Bangka Belitung Islands KPU, and a candidate at the West Nusa Tenggara KPU.

Furthermore, there is also a candidate to register at the East Nusa Tenggara KPU, a candidate at the Lampung KPU, a candidate in DKI Jakarta, a candidate at the Riau KPU, two candidates at the Riau Islands KPU, a candidate at the Central Sulawesi KPU, a candidate at the North Sulawesi KPU, a candidate at the Southeast Sulawesi KPU, three candidates at the Bengkulu KPU, and three candidates at the North Sumatra KPU.

Previously, on the first day of registration for DPD candidates, Monday, May 1, the KPU noted that there were 14 prospective candidates who had registered.

The KPU has announced that the registration of candidates for DPD members is carried out simultaneously with the registration of candidates for legislative candidates for the DPR, Provincial DPRD, Regency and City DPRD on May 1-14, 2023.

Registration of candidates for DPD members can only be registered by prospective candidates who have met the requirements for support that has been submitted to the provincial KPU.

The KPU has previously determined 700 candidates for DPD members to meet the minimum requirements for voter support and distribution to participate in the 2024 General Election. They can register as candidates for DPD members at the provincial KPU office in accordance with the electoral district or at KIP Aceh.
