PAM Jaya Adjusts Water Service Tariffs For Master Meter Customers In Jakut

JAKARTA - President Director of Perumda PAM Jaya Arief Nasrudin said that his party had adjusted the water consumption rate for master meters customers in the Marunda Kepu area, North Jakarta.

Arief said, as many as 210 customers who previously used tariff patterns in accordance with the current regulation of master meter customers have changed to customers who use water consumption rates in accordance with Governor Regulation Number 11 of 2007 concerning Automatic Tariff Adjustments (PTO) for Drinking Water Semester I.

"Since February 2, 2023, customers in Marunda Kepu, who were previously served by PAM JAYA partners using a master meter, have now automatically become PAM Jaya customers," said Arief in his statement, Wednesday, April 5.

Since 2007, Arief continued, PAM Jaya's customer rates have not changed. Looking at the customer structure, most of PAM Jaya's customers are subsidized tariff categories.

Arief continued, the change in customer water usage rates, which is mostly 2A2 or Very Simple Household, is currently subject to a water consumption price of IDR 1,050 starting from use and 1 m3 to 20 m3.

"Since March 2023 yesterday, the tariff imposed is no longer a master meter tariff, but rather a customer tariff at a much cheaper price," said Arief.

Furthermore, Arief said PAM Jaya plans to replace the tariff pattern for master meter customers in line with the acceleration of water supply, to support water needs for DKI Jakarta residents.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has assigned PAM Jaya to fully meet the water service coverage of up to 100 percent in the capital city by 2030. Now, PAM Jaya's service coverage still reaches 65.85 percent in the capital city area.

On that basis, Arief admitted that PAM Jaya will continue to innovate in creating breakthroughs in piped water services that can improve the quality of life of Jakarta residents.

"Our SDGs ask that within the next 6 to 7 years, water can be accessed properly and able to cover 930 thousand house connections. I am optimistic that a very large new connection target can be realized," he added.
