LPSK Says Victim Of Abuse By Mario Dandy Has Fulfilled The Requirements For Protection

JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is following up on the application for protection made by David Ozora's family, through his attorney.

The deputy chairman of the LPSK, Brigadier General (Purn) Achmadi, said that the victim met the requirements to be given protection. According to him, in a criminal case, the victim must get both judicial and medical protection.

“Victims of this crime really need protection. Protection includes victims' rights," said Achmadi when confirmed, Monday, February 27.

“Victims have many rights, they can be protected in the judicial process itself, in their testimony. Medical, psychological assistance, social, and so on," he continued.

Achmadi added, regarding other witnesses, if they want to ask for protection, they should immediately report it to his party.

"We'll see the protection process. We will explore. If the applicant meets the requirements, we will provide protection according to the applicable provisions," he said.

On the other hand, regarding the alleged intervention of the perpetrator against the victim's family and other witnesses, Achmadi said that until now his party had not received the report.

"We haven't received the request (intervention), but if they want to submit it, go ahead. LPSK is open. Hopefully no. We haven't received that information yet," he concluded.
