Biak Numfor Papua Has 200 Schools, But Only 26 Teachers Meet The Requirements Of Ministry Of Education And Culture To Become School Principals

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education and Culture Research Technology (Kemendikbudristek) requires prospective school principals to have a driving teacher certificate.

"The activator teacher certificate is also a requirement as well as the teacher's career path to become a school principal," said the Head of the Education and Culture Office (Kadis) of Biak Numfor Kamaruddin S.Pd at the teacher mobilization dialogue, Thursday 19 January, as reported by Antara.

The driving teacher program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture is also directed to be one of the efforts to improve the quality of education in education units.

He hopes that the rules regarding driving teachers issued by the Minister of Education and Culture must be implemented, even though they have to look at the condition of local wisdom.

"Moving teachers who have been trained for nine months have issued regulations in Permendikbud 40 of 2021 where driving teachers become recruits for prospective school principals," he said.

Kamaruddin said, if we want to change, then the rules that require a driving teacher to become a school principal must be implemented.

"It's just that the number of driving teachers in Biak Numfor is 26 people, not enough to fill the schools which number around 200," said Kamaruddin.

Meanwhile, the teacher being the head of the school, according to Kamaruddin, is not a structural position but an additional task for the teacher to be given as the head of the school.

"Let teachers who have self-potential and are still young can take part in the selection of driving teachers," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Mobilizing Teacher Community, Biak Mulyani, stated that she was ready to assist teachers in participating in the selection of mobilizing teachers.

He mentioned that to become an open activator teacher for any teacher who must definitely pass the selection with a maximum age requirement of 50 years and have a proven five-year teaching experience at Dapodik.

"For the selection of driving teachers remains open according to the Kemendikbudristek schedule," said Mulyani, accompanied by driving teacher Restin Yusuf.

The Minister of Education and Culture also mentions the requirements for school principals for teachers who have the lowest academic qualifications of bachelor (S1) or D4 from accredited tertiary institutions and study programs, have an educator certificate and have a teacher activator certificate.

As well as having the lowest rank of level I junior administrator, class III/b class for teachers who have civil servant status.
