JAKARTA - President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia's strong and successful military-industrial complex increased production, becoming one of the three keys to Russia winning the war in Ukraine.
He said Russia's military-industrial complex produces as many air defense missiles as all world manufacturers combined. In addition, President Putin noted a number of other components that convinced him of Russia's victory.
"From the point of view of the final result and victory, which was inevitable, there are several things that form the basis of our victory. President Putin further said that Russian arms companies produce nearly the same amount of anti-aircraft missiles as the rest of the world combined, and three times as many as the United States.
"Victory is certain, I have no doubts about it," President Putin said, as quoted by Reuters.
Earlier, President Putin attended an event with veterans to mark the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the Second World War siege on his hometown, then known as Leningrad, which had been blockaded by Nazi German troops for nearly 900 days.
He told veterans Russia was fighting in Ukraine to defend ethnic Russians and Russian speakers, who Moscow said were subject to systematic discrimination in Ukraine.
