Here's Jokowi's Answer Regarding Special Quotas for Dayak Youths to Become Indonesia Army-National Police

PAPUA - President Joko Widodo said the request for a special quota for young people from the Dayak tribe to become Indonesia Army (TNI)-National Police soldiers had been submitted directly to the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The request was made by the red troops Tariu Borneo Bagule Rajakng or TBBR when Jokowi was in Pontianak, West Kalimantan on Tuesday, November 29.

"I don't know exactly how much the quota is for, but I have conveyed it", Jokowi said, quoted by Antara.

Jokowi went to Pontianak to attend the '2022 Bahaump Bide TBBR Red Army Grand Gathering'. During his visit, the President was accompanied by the National Police Chief and Cabinet Secretary, Pramono Anung.

On that occasion, TBBR expressed its full support for the move and development of the State Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan.

They also support every activity of President Jokowi's government, guarding and defending the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia towards a dignified Indonesia by upholding Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

"We hope that the construction of the IKN will have a major impact on community, cultural, and infrastructure development in Kalimantan", said the TBBR commander, Jilha Agustinus, who accompanied Jokowi throughout the event.

Apart from developing Kalimantan Island, TBBR hopes that the government will not forget to increase the human resources of Dayak children, especially in remote areas. The main effort is to place educational facilities.

TBBR also requests that young Dayak children be given special facilities or quotas to become members of the TNI and National Police. "We miss being generals from the Dayak tribe in the future", said Jilha.

The TBBR red squad is an organization of indigenous Dayak people engaged in the preservation of customs and culture. TBBR tries to maintain the tradition with the hope that the Dayak people will continue to unite, progress, and be dignified in their own area.
