BMKG: Potential Heavy Rain In Aceh, North Sumatra, East Java, Bali To Yogyakarta Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that Aceh, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), East Java (Jatim), Bali, and Yogyakarta will experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds today, Thursday 10 November.

The early warning of high rain intensity accompanied by lightning and strong winds from the BMKG also covered a number of areas, including West Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, and Lampung.

Heavy rains can also occur in Banten, West Java, Central Java, West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan.

In addition, in North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Papua, and Papua.

Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta, East Nusa Tenggara, North Maluku, and Maluku have the potential to experience rain with a lighter intensity.

Especially for DKI Jakarta, light intensity rain has the potential to fall during the day and night in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. South Jakarta and East Jakarta may experience light rain during the day.

Several major cities are forecasted to experience heavy rain or thunderstorms today including Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Tarakan, Ambon and Kupang.

The BMKG also warned that a number of provinces were in the alert category for the impact of heavy rains, such as floods and landslides, namely West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Lampung, West Java and Central Java.

The alert category is for the areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, Bengkulu, Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau Islands, DKI Jakarta, D.I. Yogyakarta, East Java, Banten, NTB, NTT, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua and Papua.
